Candy and Bones

We had Shohei (our international friend) over for dinner last night.  He brought us some candy from Japan for the kids.  But it's not just any candy - it's make-your-own-candy!!  Of course the instructions are in Japanese so we needed a little help.

Erin of course is ready to go without reading the directions.  I think that's the Brown in her.

Aiden is studying closely so we know what to do next time!
He gave us a few packages to make sure we had enough.

Erin is sampling the "paint".
It's a marshmallow like candy you press into a mold to make into a giraffe or bear.  Then there's a sugar packet you mix with water to make a paint to decorate your animal with.

I think poor Shohei has bitten off more than he can chew here (if you'll pardon the expression) with our two kiddos.

YUM!  Two out of two kids agree it's yummy!!

Of course we gave Sadie a rawhide to try and keep her busy during our fun candy experiment.  She just tried to find a place to "bury" it the whole time.

Here's what she came up with:

Trips to the dentist for both kiddos today.  They were awesome!  Both kiddos got X-rays even!  You can see Aiden's permanent teeth developing WAY down there.  No cavities - everyone looks good.
