Our First Charity Work

Our MOPS group makes Easter baskets for a homeless shelter here in town.  As part of the leadership team we get the joy of delivering them.  So at the end of our meeting we load up all our kids and the baskets to go make the delivery.  Aiden hops right out and offers to carry one of the baskets.  He holds open the doors, follows orders, and does just great.  Erin points out all the candy and toys in the other basket and then cries hysterically when she doesn't get to have it.  Hys-ter-ically cries and cries and cries.

So we had to take some time in the car to explain that these kiddos don't have a home or any toys (even though we had already talked about this).  We were giving them toys and candy because they didn't have any.  Erin asked why and I explained that Jesus told us to do this for people who don't have anything.  Then she asked to go home.  Oh well, small seeds right?  Hopefully one day they'll sprout.
